DOWNLOAD OR STREAM ABOVE

“In life you need either inspiration or desperation.”   Tony Robbins

An estimated 580,000 secondary school aged pupils in England (18%) took at least one drug last year. This shows the desperation for young minds in this modern reality. So many people are struggling to find any direction in life. It could be really something so horrible that would trigger this search for drugs or it could be just a mere state of boredom. But because the young people of today are to switched on and haven't found that sense of relief or just to sit with themselves, then alternate choices like Drugs will fill that Void. Until though they do the deep and powerful work of self realisation.

This is where  the story of Brett Moran who went from a drug dealer to healer comes to life. This is the part of the story where one man who goes from a crack habit, to reading one book on meditation in Prison and changing his whole life. Brett ended up in prison several times after being involved in robbery & selling Drugs. He has now completely transformed his life & is now Yoga / Mediation teacher & helps many people overcome their struggles. “In a parallel universe you and I are for each other forever!”
― Avijeet Das

The universe that exists is something that defies everything that we have ever being taught, we are constantly learning about black holes that push beyond the boundaries of space and time. We live in a universe which is devised of a mass of planets, that goes far beyond even the grains of sands on earth. WE are now just coming to a little understanding of whats actually happening in this existence.

We are learning that there is more and more vastness of study and understanding to learn about, but while we have technology far beyond that of the human physical capabilities, we are at an endless point of possibility.

Today Dan meets a guest who is on the hunt for the truth, and to discover if we ourselves are living in a parallel universe.

Prof Richard Bower is Professor of Cosmology at Durham University. his main area of interest is the formation and evolution of the universe. Today, he is Professor of Cosmology at Durham University. He works at the ICC, the Institute for Computational Cosmology, creating a virtual Universe with some of the world’s largest computers. This is clearly an almost impossible task, yet recently his simulations have taken a major step forward and are able to reproduce galaxies in the observed universe in remarkable detail. Professor Bower’s interests span observational and theoretical studies of galaxy formation. After graduating with a First in Physics at Oxford, he completed his PhD thesis at the University of Durham and went on hold research positions in Munich and Edinburgh before returning to Durham as a lecturer. As well as teaching courses on Cosmology and Computing, he has lectured on topics as diverse as the Physics of Motorsport and, now, on Robert Grosseteste’s 13th century vision of the creation of the Universe, “De Luce”.  Professor Bower leads the Intel Parallel Computing Centre at Durham, developing SWIFT, a revolutionary new approach to high-performance computing.

CYCLING Around The World on a BIKE - Oscar Cousin

DOWNLOAD OR STREAM ABOVE

“ Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” – Jennifer Lee.

There comes up in your life opportunities that you must do, today was one of those opportunities not only for Dan to meet today’s incredible guest. But not only that, today’s guest is also taking the opportunities that life throws at him, as he travels around the world on a bike.

How many people in life manage to just travel around the world on a bike, analyzing their own thoughts, bringing to life their own view point of what the world is and what the world is not. What’s beautiful is that he shows how we are all just young adventure seekers at heart, and that life itself is just a mere beautiful opportunity.

We often over complicate our lives with more and more stuff, and then eventually get overwhelmed with the life we are living. Not understanding why, but the reality is that we have searched for direction into consumerism, hoping to fill that void of adventure with consumerism something which offers a far less satisfactory feeling.

We need to become our own adventurer again, and look to exploit all of natures incredible wonders, when was the last time your foot touched the earth, without a shoe or a sock on? When was the last time you breathed in the freshness of the air on a misty morning in the woods? When was the last time you drove on a road you hadn’t being on for years?

The questions in life are all about direction. When one man travels on a bike around the world, it reminds us all about the true secret of life, and that secret is play.

The Political System is BROKEN - Indra Adnan

DOWNLOAD, STREAM ABOVE OR JOIN THE MOVEMENT AND MAKE SHIT HAPPEN

“We are living in an era in which people are finding their own autonomy and their own agency and they want to express that. We are not content anymore to hand all of that over to someone else. It doesn’t have to mean separation for others or selfishness. Sometimes people interpret that to mean i want this for myself. With the tools we have now it could mean i want this for everyone.

We should all be able to co-create this space rather than be leaving it to any one small group of people. And then there is the planetary thing? What are we doing today that has direct effect on the planet. Again people think if its local or community driven then it has no relationship to the planet but in fact that’s completely the opposite, it’s from your felt place where you are that you can make decisions upon that directly affect the planet.” Indra Adnan

Some questions NEED to get asked in society, and this is certainly one of them. How can we create a political system that supports human and planetary flourishing right in the face of our possible extinction?

This episode addresses that question as Dan meets psychotherapist and consultant Indra Adnan. Indra is co-initiator of The Alternative UK. Were Only 2% of people in the UK are members of political parties and The Alternative are working to reorient political power from within the 98%.

Indra is committed to exploring politics ‘with a small p’ – the world of sociopolitical culture and action outside the bubble of party politics. The alternative provides a platform to raise awareness about and provide connectivity between people who are creating value within communities particularly innovating for the environment, with a daily blog highlighting new initiatives of active citizenship.

Indra’s work is inspired by the Danish political party Alternative, where she has witnessed new behaviors, structures and ways of connecting that create more vibrant, engaged and humorous, collective of political citizens than she had ever seen in her political career.

The Alternative is built around six core values: courage, generosity, humility, transparency, empathy and humor. Indra explains how and why each of these values is essential to a politics that serves, rather than seeks to lead, the people.

Together Indra and Dan speak about how to cultivate resilience in the communities where we live, getting to know our neighbors and bringing our skills to the front lines of our local area where they are needed.  And why we must resist the urge to isolate ourselves in escapist bubble communities that perpetuate the growing societal divide.

Artificial Intelligence, Consciousnesses & Building Super Humans - David Wood AP 151:

DOWNLOAD OR STREAM ABOVE. OR WATCH EX MACHINA ITS DAMN AWESOME

“By the time Skynet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would. Judgment Day, the day the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they'd built to protect themselves. I should have realized it was never our destiny to stop Judgment Day, it was merely to survive it, together. The Terminator knew; he tried to tell us, but I didn't want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don't know; all I know is what the Terminator taught me; never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun.”

JOHN CONNOR (TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES)

Sometimes in life, we get extremely caught up in the magnitude of choice, the direction of life and the pull from everything which wants your attention. This is what we worry about in life, but while the rest of the world is crying out for them to look at me. The world is progressing at a sublime rate. A rate which is excelling beyond that of any other time in history.

Right now, there is a huge movement and drive into artificial intelligence, it truly is on the gusp of a breakthrough that is going to brake the mold of whats possible on this planet, how are we people going to react to something so large, even the prospect of jobs and security are under threat.

But the true case of artificial intelligence is that is to far evolved and it cant be stopped. Why it cant be stopped is because of the rate of necessity is to great. The human evolution is now on a scale where we are bringing robotics to control civilization. No other time in history has faced what we will see in our lifetime.

The truth though is that this terrifying scenario, the one which has being warned through out sci fi movie after sci fi movie, may not be out of the realms of the possibility.

Today’s guest is one of the leading researchers into artificial intelligence and has studied momentous amounts of research into: is consciousness capable of being accessed by a machine, the advancement of technology. Ladies and gentlemen, i would like to introduce you to David Wood.

The Man who is Building a Brain - Steve Furber

DOWNLOAD OR STREAM, OR GO AND BUILD YOUR OWN BRAIN

MEET THE MAN WHO IS BUILDING A BRAIN

Professor Steve Furber

feature-the-man-who-is-building-a-brain.jpg

“For a full-scale computer model of the human brain, we’d be looking at a machine that would need to be housed in an aircraft hangar and consume tens of megawatts,” Professor Steve Furber, ICL Professor of Computer Engineering.

There are times in life when people have to really understand the magnitude of what someone is doing, On the outside it may seem really simple to build a brain, with the vastness of our technology available, building a brain can be very straight forward right. I mean 50 years ago we were putting astronauts on the moon.

But this task is something much more larger, the workings on the human brain are so delicate that it is natures ultimate form of creation, even the slightest damage can completely hamper your life. It is the source of control, in understanding language, creating music, listening and dissecting information, controlling the whole workings of the body.

So how can mankind compete with millions of years of evolution design, well it takes the mind of a really smart man called Professor Steve Furber and of course we use the best computer we can build and throw tons of money at the project.

(From the Manchester.ac website) The newly formed million-processor-core ‘Spiking Neural Network Architecture’ or ‘SpiNNaker’ machine is capable of completing more than 200 million million actions per second, with each of its chips having 100 million transistors.

The SpiNNaker machine, which was designed and built in The University of Manchester’s School of Computer Science, can model more biological neurons in real time than any other machine on the planet.

Biological neurons are basic brain cells present in the nervous system that communicate primarily by emitting ‘spikes’ of pure electro-chemical energy. Neuromorphic computing uses large scale computer systems containing electronic circuits to mimic these spikes in a machine.

SpiNNaker is unique because, unlike traditional computers, it doesn’t communicate by sending large amounts of information from point A to B via a standard network. Instead it mimics the massively parallel communication architecture of the brain, sending billions of small amounts of information simultaneously to thousands of different destinations.

The true essence of building a brain, isn’t just to awaken consciousness but its to create a whole new form of understanding in the brain. There is a saying that they can take man to the moon, the top of a mountain, bottom of the see but never to the depths of the mind. Well ladies and gentlemen today maybe that day.

“Artificial intelligence would be the ultimate version of Google. The ultimate search engine that would understand everything on the web. It would understand exactly what you wanted, and it would give you the right thing. We're nowhere near doing that now. However, we can get incrementally closer to that, and that is basically what we work on.”Larry Page

Steve Furber is the ICL Professor of Computer Engineering in the School of Computer Science at the University of Manchester. He received his B.A. degree in Mathematics in 1974 and his Ph.D. in Aerodynamics in 1980 from the University of Cambridge, England. From 1981 to 1990 he worked in the hardware development group within the R&D department at Acorn Computers Ltd, and was a principal designer of the BBC Microcomputer and the ARM 32-bit RISC microprocessor, both of which earned Acorn Computers a Queen's Award for Technology. Upon moving to the University of Manchester in 1990 he established the Amulet research group which has interests in asynchronous logic design and power-efficient computing, and which merged with the Parallel Architectures and Languages group in 2000 to form the Advanced Processor Technologies group. Panspermia, Aliens, Evolution & Origin of Life - Milton Wainwright

DOWNLOAD OR STREAM ABOVE

The survival of some of these building blocks – can they be delivered to the Earth that would help seed a planet so the conditions of life can begin to exist?  (Earth & Panspermia & Life)  Peter H Schultz.

Every year thousands of tons of material from outer space reigns down on our planet’s surface.  Most of the time we’re unaware.  But sometimes it can’t be ignored.  Around the world people have reported finding strange matter where these meteors fall.  Sometimes it’s a gelatinous goo.  Other times it looks like it’s raining blood.

The question of where we come from and where we are going is something that has many of the worlds greatest minds for the eternity of time, even if your just sitting around a camp site with your friends, you are bound to stare at the stars and for that brief moment ask where do I come from?

This weeks guest has asked that question, He has asked the question long enough, to find a deep and powerful realisation of how man came to Earth. That theory is Panspermia, which is greek for seed. is the hypothesis that life exists throughout the universe, distributed by space dust, meteoroids, comets, planetoids and also by spacecraft carrying unintended contamination by microorganisms. Distrubition may have occurred between galaxies, and so may not be restricted to the limited scale of solar systems.

Panspermia hypotheses propose (for example) that microscopic life-forms that can survive the effects of space can become trapped in debris ejected into space after collisions between planets and small solar system bodies that harbor life.

So thankfully, we have a guest today who has pushed the boundaries of the institutionalised thinking. someone who has being degraded by his peers, but has always pushed the thought provoking ideas of Panspermia.

That great man ladies and gentlemen is Milton Wainwright and prepare to dive deep in one of the most powerful, thought provoking episodes we have ever done.
