We are so lucky to blessed to be on this planet, even for the short space of existence of 80-100 years we are constantly reminded that our eventual time on this planet will demise and life itself will move on. This is why we are so happy that during this time of existence we use that time to explore the minds of some incredible thought teaches and one person who we are really glad we talked to was the incredible Will Johnson
Will Johnson practices embodiment training which is a path of awakening that views the body as the doorway, not the obstacle, to personal growth and spiritual transformation. Through combining the orientation of Western somatic therapy with Eastern meditational practices, embodiment training leads you to discover your natural embodied state, like the Dzogychen rigpa and the Buddhist sunyata, the embodied state has being described as "Like coming home"
This is one of those "coming home" episodes where we look back and understand what the body, mind and this whole damn beautiful human experience is all about.
- Spirituality in the modern age
- Living with spirituality
- Becoming more centred with the Earth
- Society in the News
- Detoxing from the external
- becoming the next stage of human
Will Johnson received his B.A., magna cum laude, in Art and Archaeology from Princeton University in 1968. After graduation, he worked for several years as an art critic in New York before moving to the west coast of North America where he began actively exploring gazing, moving, and sitting meditations. He became a Buddhist practitioner in 1972 and was trained as a Rolfer™ in 1976. He began the formal sharing of the practices of Embodiment Training in 1995.
He and his beyond wonderful wife (and partner in the practices) Coco live in Delicias, Costa Rica, just outside the little bohemian town of Montezuma at the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula where they are currently building Bambu Hueco, the Hollow Bamboo Retreat Cottage, where they will start receiving people to enter into intensive 7-21 self retreat in spring of 2018. During these retreats, people will have the opportunity to work closely with Will in their meditation practices and receive deep bodywork and dream sessions as support for their intensive practice.
